Creamy Crab Lettuce Cups: A Refreshing Summer Favorite

When the temperatures climb, the last thing I want is a heavy meal or a hot kitchen. That’s when simple recipes like these creamy crab lettuce cups become a staple. They’re light, refreshing, full of flavor, and come together in just a few minutes.

I love these for lunch or dinner, but also as an appetizer. The creamy filling paired with crisp lettuce is satisfying without feeling heavy, and the lemon makes the flavors bright, making it the perfect dish for those warm summer days.

Creamy Crab Lettuce Cups

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces lump crab meat, chopped

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • Lemon zest of 1 lemon

  • 1 tablespoon chives, chopped

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Butter lettuce or romaine leaves for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, gently combine the crab, mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest and chives.

  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Chill for 15–30 minutes if time allows to let the flavors come together.

  4. Spoon the mixture into crisp lettuce leaves and garnish with extra dill, a sprinkle of paprika, or a squeeze of fresh lemon.

Tips

  • Serve with sliced avocado or fresh cucumber for an extra refreshing touch.

  • I recommend making the filling several hours ahead and kept refrigerated until you're ready to serve, to let the flavors meld.

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the ones we return to all summer long. Fresh, creamy, and crisp, these crab lettuce cups are proof that you don't need a long ingredient list to create something that feels a little special.
